Hiyou-Aya
It was a whisper upon the wind, a gentle breeze in the wake of a certain lounge's fall. Nobody quite knows what happened to that lounge, only that one day, it's doors closed for good, the owner nowhere to be seen for some time. Some speculated the Sekiseigumi finally came down upon them, and the owner whisked away to an unknown fate. That was the rumor that circulated for several years.
...And then, emerging from the ashes of that moonlit lounge came a humble teahouse. A simple thing, barely a dint in the bustling life of Kugane's entertainment district. Yet, over time, over decades, that humble teahouse became something respectable... something revered. One day, nobody knew a thing about this plain-looking ochaya--the next, the name Hiyou-Aya was on the lips of every merchant, every resident, and it left upon the lips of every foreigner within Hingashi. And with it came a rumor.A rumor above that the finest tea in all of Othard was birthed from this ochaya. A rumor below that certain substances thought long lost had resurfaced once more. A rumor between that the stray dogs were on the prowl once more, haunting the darkened roads and low-lit corners. What this meant for Kugane, Hingashi, and the world beyond, only time may tell. And perhaps, you may be a part of that tale--though, whether that tale is of a friend or foe, that is your choice to decide.

Illicit smokes - 5000g (per gram)
These are available on the 'secret' menu, requested with any phrase including 'behind the flower veil.'
All smokes come in cigars, cigarettes, or pipes, and can be flavored to one's liking upon request.
Ghost Smoke
A blend of dried belladonna, white lotus, and crushed river pearls. Induces vivid hallucinations of the dead and can cause users to hear voices of lost loved ones. Chronic smokers struggle to tell dreams from reality.
En'enra's Whisper
Made from charred datura flowers and fermented opium resin, this smoke numbs the senses and dulls pain. Those who overindulge report losing time, as if hours or even days pass in a haze without memory.
Black Lacquer Mountain
A fine, gritty powder smoked through bamboo pipes. It floods the body with heat and makes the user feel invincible for a short time, but it is highly addictive, leaving black stains on the lips and teeth of chronic users.
Moonlight Ash
A mix of willow bark, foxglove, and fermented sake lees. It slows the heart and induces a dreamlike state where time seems to stretch. Those who use it too often become detached, speaking in riddles or forgetting conversations moments after they occur.
Corpse Fog
A strong, acrid blend of burnt mandrake and spiced myrrh. It causes a surge of euphoria and provides an out of body experience. Overindulgence results in a sudden sense of impending doom and a 'cold' feeling in the lungs.
Spider Silk
A rare, expensive blend that includes dried saffron petals and venom-laced betel leaves. It enhances speech and confidence but makes the user sweat excessively, sometimes developing an unsettling, sticky skin texture over time.
Mask-Maker's Gift
A sweet-smelling smoke infused with rare herbs and powdered lacquer. It heightens charm and reduces inhibitions, but long-term use can cause muscle stiffness in the face, creating a permanent mask-like expression.

Drinking Game Rules
These games operate on a point and penalty system. During gameplay, the penalties are as follows:
Player must take a shot of sake or drink and entire glass of a weaker drink; reveal a secret, or must pay a compliment to the round winner in shout.A guest losing a game will earn them a playful nickname for the rest of the night, and continuous losses will maintain that nickname until the guest can redeem themselves with a win. (The nickname will be respectful, if playful, and will be agreed upon OOCly beforehand).A guest winning a game earns them one of the following rewards:
A keepsake from the maiko/geisha, a private performance/ceremony (1 hour, during the next open night), or a commemorative gpose with the maiko/geisha (to be taken at a scheduled time agreed upon by the recipient and the maiko/geisha).
Rewards are entirely at the maiko/geisha's discretion, please do not harass them for constant games or specific rewards.
Konpira Fune Fune
A traditional Hingan hand-rhythm drinking game, players take turns in 4-5 rounds placing or removing a small object (sake-cup or box) to the rhythm of an old folk song, matching their hand gestures to whether the object is present or absent--a flat hand placed upon the cup if it is not removed, or a closed fist upon the table if the cup is removed.
How it Works & Rules
Both participants will enter a party together and roll a /dice 100 to determine roles. The higher roll will be the 'Sailor', and the lower the 'Shore'.
Once roles have been determined, the 'Sailor' will begin the game by reciting the song, and will roll a /dice 2. This will determine if the 'Sailor' lifts or remains the object in play.
The 'Shore' will then roll a /dice 2, and if the number matches, the 'Shore' will have reacted appropriately to the 'Sailor''s action and will gain a point.
However, if the numbers do not match, the 'Shore' will lose that round, and must choose a penalty to enact, and the 'Sailor' gains the point instead.
Then, the next round begins, and the players swap roles, repeating the process until four rounds have passed. A fifth round may be played in the case of a draw (both players having won two rounds).
If the guest wins, they earn a token from the maiko/geisha, but if the guest loses, they earn a playful punishment.
Tora Tora
Another traditional Hingan drinking game, this game is most similar to rock-paper-scissors, but with whole body involvement. For 3 rounds, players will stand and cover their faces while a folk song is sung, and on the final beat, they will reveal themselves with an action representing one of three beings: the Tiger, the Warrior, or the Old Woman.
How it Works & Rules
Both participants will enter a party together and will stand and cover their faces so that they cannot be seen by each other. Then, both players will roll a /dice 3 to determine which action they must take.
1 = The Tiger (posed with claws up and a scary face); 2 = The Warrior (posed as though holding a spear ready to strike); 3 = The Old Woman (posed hunched over leaning on a cane.) The players must make the corresponding pose to their rolled number.
The dice roll will happen at the same time, and then players will take turns writing out their determined being, and determine the winner. The Tiger beats the Old Woman, The Old Woman beats the Warrior, and the Warrior beats the Old Woman.
Whoever wins the round earns a point. In the case of a draw, players will reassume their positions and play again, up to a best out of 3. The loser of each round must choose a penalty to enact.
If the guest wins, they earn a token from the maiko/geisha, but if the guest loses, they earn a playful punishment.
Tosenkyo
A popular Hingan drinking game involving throwing a folding fan at a paper butterfly placed upon a wooden box (the 'pillow). This game is played in 3 rounds, each round allowing both players two chances to knock the butterfly down with the thrown fan.
How it Works & Rules
Both participants will join a party together and roll /dice 100 to determine who goes first. Once order is determined and the fan, butterfly, and pillow are set up, the game begins.
The first player will sit at a distance from the target butterfly, and will attempt to throw an opened folding fan to knock the butterfly down. The attempt will be made by rolling a /dice 6.
1-2 = a miss; 3-4 = a hit, but the butterfly didn't fall over; 5-6 = A hit and the butterfly fell over.
The player will receive two chances to knock the butterfly over, unless they knock it over on the first attempt. If either attempt results in a knocked over butterfly, that player earns a point.
If neither attempt results in a knocked over butterfly, the player must enact a penalty of choice. Then, the next player takes their turn, the round ending after both players have made their attempts. The next round begins, until 3 rounds total have passed.
The player with the most points by the end is the winner. In the event of a tie, both players will engage in a death roll to determine the winner.
If the guest wins, they earn a token from the maiko/geisha, but if the guest loses, they earn a playful punishment.

"Amidst a field of gentle irises, a wolf howls at the moon... joined, by a chorus."
We're a respectful and honor-bound yakuza that houses the 'strays' of Kugane and beyond--those who fit outside the norm, on the surface and beneath. Outcasts of other groups, yokai who don't quite operate like their brethren, those running from dark pasts and more, we provide a safe-haven, a home, a family to those seeking more to their lives. In return, we showcase the beauty in every member through our teahouse, whether it be working as one of our talented geisha, or protecting the sanctity of the teahouse as security, or even operating as our welcomers and chefs, every member has a role, a purpose, and an opportunity to grow.Ours is a somewhat modified yet traditional yakuza hierarchy that branches into three pathways: that of the entertainers, the guards, and the advisors, and every member is encouraged to put their skills to use where they're most comfortable. A criminal enterprise beneath--yet we never go after the little guy, our retribution falls upon only those who have rightfully earned it. On the surface, we operate a fully legal teahouse that uplifts the geisha arts--regardless of gender, providing luxurious experiences to those who enter our halls.Norainu seeks fellow strays to join together, to create bonds, and to show the beauty and power present in those that exist on the fringe of society. We need members to help us grow, allies to create mutual connections with, and even enemies to keep our fangs sharp. If you've found yourself following that trail of arctic iris blossoms, followed the distant calls for belonging, we welcome you. If you're ready to become a member of Norainu, join our discord, and submit an application via our Join the Family channel to get started. Please note, we do NOT engage in slavery or 'bad-end' RP! This is non-negotiable, if this is something you're looking for, we cannot offer you a place with us.
